Adhering to the Toxic Substances Control Act when importing to the U.S.

The Environmental Protection Agency generally regulates chemical substance imports, including petroleum and chemicals. You can find the guidelines for commercial imports to adhere to in the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).

To avoid fines if your goods are in violation of the regulations, we recommend contacting the TSCA for help understanding the guidelines you need to follow. You can either:

  • Contacting the TSCA Assistance Information Service at (202) 554-1404, or
  • Email tsca-hotline@epa.gov
