Why do I need a Customs bond?

A Customs bond — or, a bond to make sure all duties, taxes, and fees are paid to the federal government — is essentially an insurance policy. It ensures the U.S. government will be paid on the duties and taxes associated with your shipments being imported — since, in some cases, companies can’t pay due to bankruptcy or a lack of cash flow.
