What is clean truck fee?

Clean truck fees were originally started by the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach in an initiative to support drayage firm in purchasing new cleaner truck. 

The program via the port terminated in 2011. However, the fee continue as many drayage company try to regain the cost of purchasing cleaner trucks to reduce carbon emissions and pollution.
